Jamie Hartman is a Clinical Education Specialist for the Critical Care and Trauma Departments at UnityPoint Health Des Moines. Jamie has been a critical care nurse for over a decade and worked at multiple large academic centers, including the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and the University of Michigan Health System. Jamie earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Iowa in 2007. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing with a focus in education from Allen College in Waterloo, Iowa in 2016. As part of her graduate work, Jamie implemented an evidence-based preceptor course across UnityPoint Health Des Moines. In her current role, Jamie works with newly licensed registered nurses in the organization's ANCC Accredited Nurse Residency Program. She also teaches multiple continuing education courses including Basic Cardiac Rhythms, Advanced Therapies, and Preceptor Workshop: RN Leadership Development. Jamie serves as the co-chair of the hospital's Educator Forum Committee and is actively involved in the organization's Nursing Quality Committee.
