Ann Marie started her career in the HUP OR in 1987 and is currently the Associate Clinical Director Perioperative Quality, Safety and Education at the Hospital of the University of PA. Her Perioperative Nursing practice includes several leadership roles within Perioperative services in same day surgery and endoscopy, including pre and post procedure recovery. In 2010 she transitioned to a newly developed role, Nurse Manager Periop Quality and Safety and most recently her role has expanded to include oversight of quality and safety initiatives in other procedure areas at the hospital. She works collaboratively with both colleagues in Perioperative Services and interdepartmentally identifying opportunities for improvement, standardizing practice across procedure areas, and spearheading patient safety and quality initiatives. She also provides oversight for the implementation and education of perioperative nursing staff related to the quality improvement processes.
